Legendary designer Frank Pennick designed this Algarve golf course in 1969. The course's design and scenery haven't changed much since its debut. But it plays like an English heathland course with Algarve umbrella pine-lined fairways. The Dom Pedro Vilamoura Old Course is not as tight. Those who play regular rounds here will tell you that you need an intelligent approach to score well.
Developed in 2000, it joined the existing nine courses to produce 18 championship-quality holes. A challenging course through the fragrant pines. The Millennium course golf club has several undulating holes with bunkers and trees. The hills make this course both attractive and demanding for serious golfers.
This undulating course, built by British architect Donald Steel, is one of our most popular Algarve courses. His characteristic manner of preserving nature is visible. The first hole has a narrow fairway with trees and bunkers protecting the green. The Pestana vila sol golf course has most holes flanked with umbrella trees, which penalise wayward drives. The track also avoids water. This is a championship course that will challenge all golfers.
Sir Henry Cotton, a winner of three Open Championships, planned and developed the course. He planted approximately 350,000 bushes and trees, giving the course its wonderful forest feel today. Faldo Golf Course offers a challenging course with scenic views. Faldo Golf Course at Amendoeira is an 18-hole course designed by Sir Nick Faldo. It provides a real challenge for experienced players while remaining enjoyable for novices.
