Here is a List of Our Favourite Tenerife Golf Courses:
Golf Las Americas
A popular destination, this golf course is at the centre of Playa de Las Americas, waiting for the next unassuming golfer to set up at the first tee. The fantastic greenery is contrasted by the mountains in the distance, giving golfers a mesmerizing setting. This course will challenge even the most talented golfers, but it is still kind to those who are less experienced due to the forward tee positions.
The course has a real character with soft undulations, giving you something to reflect on. There are water hazards throughout the course, and so, proper course management is an absolute must. At the same time, it also helps you are accurate with the club in hand.
Amarilla
There are not many golf courses in Tenerife positioned on top of high cliff tops that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. This golf course offers not only incredible views but also a great round of golf. The views over Mount Teide are a beautiful sight as golfers make their way around this Donald Steel course. It is a course that requires the right placement, mainly where the water hazards could come into play.
The real jewel in the crown for this course is the Par 3 5th hole. You have to drive the ball over the ocean below to reach the green. It's not the longest of courses, but it certainly will test your game.
Golf del Sur Tenerife
Golfers love how this course incorporates a mixture of tight fairways and fairways that tempt golfers into challenging shots. A course that requires golfers to take a systematic approach, with palm trees and cacti lining the fairways. The greens are fantastic and will be hard to bear as they are fast and dependable, with threatening slopes that make putts hard to read.
Positioned on the coast, and so, it often succumbs to winds from the Atlantic. A unique golf course, with black sand bunkers and lush green fairways, it captures the imagination and offers a spectacular golfing experience.
Costa Adeje
This course is the original 18 hole course in Tenerife. It is now known as “The Old Course”, but it certainly does not disappoint in respect of Tenerife golf breaks. It is ideally located on the coastline and offers spectacular views of La Gomera Island. Now in its 20th year, an established course on the island with a new 9-hole course recently added.
The fairways are expansive, but it is still a course that requires a considered approach. There are elevations, undulations, and water hazards to keep you on your toes throughout the round.
Buena Vista
Buena Vista Golf is a course that is surrounded by the beautiful Teno mountain range. This course offers golfers picturesque scenery that will enhance any round on a Tenerife golf holiday. The positioning of the course could not be better, perched on top of cliffs with views over the glistening Atlantic Ocean.
The course is always a threat to golfers as it pushes their ability, something synonymous with Ballesteros designed courses. Another course that has generous fairways, but the smart design of the course, which makes its way along the cliff edge does enhance the challenge. In comparison to other courses, this might be a slightly different course, but it is indeed worth a try.
