Monte Rei is the Algarve's most prestigious golf course and the only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in Portugal. The golf course is spread across 1,000 acres of prime countryside taking in and maximising the natural terrain to its fullest offering the ultimate Monte Rei experience every time.
With plans in place to build the long-awaited South course well set in motion, Monte Rei has plans to provide the very best golf resort possible in mainland Europe. 2021 is set to be an exciting year for Monte Rei.
The Algarve’s most famous designer Sir Henry Cotton designed and opened Benamor in the latter half of 2000 and is located just a few kilometres due East of Tavira. A relatively open and flat golf course Benamor has been designed to be one of the most enjoyable golf courses for golfers of all abilities.
Quinta do Vale golf course is another great golf course from the Master himself. The late, great, Severiano Ballesteros added Quinta do Vale to his extensive portfolio of a quality golf course. Ballesteros has used every one of the 75 hectares available to him to integrate the golf course into what will soon become another great in this unspoilt and undiscovered region.
These two 18-hole championship golf courses sit adjacent to one another on the outskirts of Tavira. The two courses are very different in that Quinta da Ria is the shorter of the two and runs down to and along the coastline and is adjacent Quinta da Cima is the big sister of the two golf courses is longer and runs inland has open fairways and strategically placed almond trees to test the best of golfers.
By air, Faro International airport is served by all regional airports from the UK and now carries over six million visitors annually with the busiest month March through to October being the most popular for travel.
The climate in the Algarve is an all-year-round temperate climate, with the highest temperatures reached in the summer months.
