You will find the bulk of the top golf courses in Murcia outside the city and spread across the region, from the town toward the coast. Starting in the city of Murcia and working your way out towards the Mediterranean, you will find a wealth of golf course along the RM-19 road, which leads out to the coast. Here you will find another significant grouping of golf courses. Continuing south along the coast and taking the RM-12, you will head to towards the world-famous La Manga Resort. Located on the far west, close to Cartagena, and is a superb region for a golf holiday in Murcia.
You can use two airports to get to the region: Alicante is within an hour’s transfer and will offer you the most choice for flights from the UK. The closest airport for most resorts is Corvera Region de Murcia. Around a 20-minute drive from La Manga Club. Easyjet, Ryanair, and Jet2 all cover San Javier from various airports across the UK. Murcia has a great year-round micro-climate however the most popular times for golfers to hit the first tee would be from March-May and September-November. Although playing golf all year round is certainly an option and the winter months of January and February provides excellent value for money.
Although its relatively small scale, Murcia City has a lively bar and club scene. The main reason for its buoyant atmosphere is the student population in the areas surrounding the university, but the old town still has a fair share of trendy hot spots. Although the Golf Resorts tend to be closer to the vibrant town of Los Alcazares, which in addition to its great variety of bars and restaurants is very much home now for an established community of ex-pats.

Whilst in the region a visit to the capital city of Murcia is called for, with its fantastic architecture, whilst there a visit to the Cathedral de Santa Maria is recommended.
