During our visit, we appreciated the short transfer from Faro airport, at just under 45 minutes, as it gave us plenty of time to get in a quick 9 holes on arrival before chilling out. Amendoeira is almost ideally set up for groups, with two championship golf courses on-site, with the bonus of having the only floodlit short golf course in the Algarve.
Simply said, this resort is ideal for golfing parties. Amendoeira is one of those rare resorts that just seems to get everything right.
An interesting fact we discovered during our visit is the history of the name "Amendoeira", which means almond tree. Representing a lovely Moorish legend based in the Algarve about the beautiful almond tree blossoms in spring.
