Cadiz is known as a great holiday destination in the south of Spain. One look at the attractions and it is to see why it has become so popular.
Situated in Andalucia, Cadiz boasts charming villages, a stunning coastline, an ancient port city, rich heritage and a tremendous selection of golf courses. Not only that but the weather is very pleasant all-year-round, making this region of Spain a great place to play golf at any time of year.
You are spoilt for choice in terms of golf courses in Andalucia but when in Cadiz, you cannot afford to miss La Reserva Club de Golf, which is found just 3 kilometers west of Sotogrande and an hour away from Malaga airport.
Designed by the American architect and golf course designer Cabell B. Robinson and plays to 7,400 yards.
The course opened for play in 2003 and quickly established itself as being a must-play for golfers heading to southern Spain for a golf holiday. Despite the length of the course from the back tees, the fairways are generous and you can unwind with the driver on many of the holes.
The greens are also large but while you may have little trouble in landing your ball on the putting surface, making a one or two-putt is a different matter. Therefore, you must pay attention to pin position and try and place your approach shot on the green to avoid leaving a huge first putt, on what can be tricky putting surfaces.
You will notice water around the course on several of the holes but it rarely comes into play. Only on the 6th hole will you find water really becomes an issue and it is located down the left side of the green, making you think twice about your tee shot.
The views from the course are exceptional and you are treated to panoramas of the Mediterranean Sea, mountains and the trees of La Gran Reserva. Having featured on the European Tour, you can rest assured it is always in immaculate condition and ready to welcome you for a top-quality day of golf. Include La Reserva de Sotogrande course as part of your Costa del Sol golf break package today.
