Vila Sol Golf Club

Vila Sol Golf Course

Designed by Donald Steel and opened in 1991, Vila Sol is a 27-hole golf course operated by Pestana in the central Algarve. Its mature, tree-lined setting makes it a worthwhile addition to a Vilamoura golf holiday, particularly for golfers who enjoy choosing their route carefully through a parkland layout.

Understanding the 27-Hole Layout

Vila Sol comprises three nine-hole loops: Prime, Challenge and Prestige. Each is par 36, and an 18-hole round combines two loops. Your allocated combination should be confirmed when arranging your tee time.

The golf academy and practice facilities support tuition and preparation for your round. Prime, Challenge and Prestige are the three loops that make up the main course.

What Is Vila Sol Like to Play?

Pines and other mature trees frame the fairways, with lakes and bunkers adding to the challenge. Accurate driving helps you find a clear approach, while thoughtful club selection can be more useful than trying to gain every possible yard from the tee.

We recommend Vila Sol to players who enjoy traditional parkland golf and planning their way around a course. Choose tees that suit your ability, consider the landing area before reaching for your driver, and allow for the contours when judging approaches and putts.

Practice and Preparing for Your Round

The resort has a driving range and golf academy. Let us know if you would like a lesson or need hire clubs, a trolley or a buggy so we can check availability and any additional charges.

Provide your group’s handicaps when enquiring so we can check the current playing requirements. For larger groups, request consecutive tee times early and confirm any transport needed between your hotel and the course.

Where to Stay for Vila Sol Golf

Combine Vila Sol with Other Courses

Pair Vila Sol with Pinhal or Old Course Vilamoura for more tree-lined golf, or add Laguna and Millennium for contrasting layouts. Our Vilamoura golf course guide explains the local choices.
