Victoria Golf Resort & Spa and the Planned Fairmont Vilamoura

Victoria Golf Resort & Spa is temporarily closed for redevelopment, following its closure on 15 October 2026. The resort is planned to reopen in 2028 as Fairmont Vilamoura.

Future opening dates, accommodation, rates and golf packages remain subject to confirmation. Any future arrangement involving The Els Club Vilamoura will also require confirmation of visitor eligibility and tee-time availability.

For a golf holiday during the closure period, compare our recommended Vilamoura hotels. We can help you choose an alternative base and arrange rounds at Old Course Vilamoura, Pinhal, Millennium and Laguna, subject to availability.

Accor took over management of Victoria Golf Resort & Spa in April 2025. The resort subsequently announced an extensive redevelopment, with closure from 15 October 2026 and a planned return in 2028 under the Fairmont name.

The property occupies an inland resort setting beside The Els Club Vilamoura. Its location suits a holiday focused on golf and time at the resort, with transport needed for visits to the marina and beach.

For a future stay, please ask us to check the confirmed reopening date, available accommodation and operating facilities before planning your trip around the hotel.

The Els Club Vilamoura: Access Conditions

The Els Club Vilamoura is a separate private members’ golf club, developed from the former Victoria Golf Course. Playing access requires specific confirmation of visitor eligibility and tee-time availability.

Before the hotel’s closure, selected stay-and-play packages offered a limited number of tee times for non-members staying at Victoria Golf Resort & Spa. Arrangements for the future Fairmont resort must be reconfirmed as part of its reopening.

Planning Golf During the Hotel’s Closure

You can still build a Vilamoura itinerary around other accommodation and rounds at Old Course Vilamoura, Pinhal, Laguna and Millennium. Our Vilamoura golf course guide explains the local choices.

For a resort setting with pools and gardens, consider Hilton Vilamoura. For a beach and marina location, compare Tivoli Marina Vilamoura. Our Vilamoura hotel comparison will help you choose a base around your golf and evening plans.

Accommodation and Facilities After Redevelopment

The announced Fairmont transformation includes reimagined spaces, enhanced facilities and new experiences inspired by the Algarve. Accommodation categories, dining venues, wellness facilities and family services should be checked against the confirmed reopening arrangements.

Rooms and Suites

When enquiring about a future stay, tell us your preferred sleeping arrangements, room layout and outlook. For golf groups, specify twin-bed requirements and whether any guests need additional space or accessible accommodation.

Room views, balconies, terraces and category-specific benefits will depend on the accommodation offered when the resort reopens.

Dining and Wellness

Restaurant concepts, bars and spa arrangements may change during the redevelopment. We will check the dining options, included meals and wellness facilities available for your proposed dates, together with any access conditions or additional charges.

Golf and Transport Arrangements

Include your preferred courses, number of rounds and transport requirements when requesting a golf holiday. Your quote should identify the named courses, any confirmed visitor-access arrangements, airport transfers and course transport.

For guests travelling with non-golfing partners, let us know which resort facilities and activities matter most so these can be considered alongside the golf itinerary.
