However, it comes to life when the rest of Europe's weather gets a little more chilly. Tenerife has an average yearly temperature of 23°C and a location just over 4 hours' flight distance from the UK, perfect for a golf holiday.
More widely, the Canary Islands are home to some of the best golf in Spain. However, Tenerife would be the stand-out contender offering the best golf for a winter golf break. Particularly fantastic ocean views and excellent hotels offering anything from bed and breakfast to All-Inclusive. Combined with fantastic golf courses, you can not go wrong with the Canaries.
There are currently nine Tenerife courses on the island of Tenerife. Indeed, the majority are located in the southwest part of the Island in the regions between San Miguel and Costa Adeje.

Unquestionably, Abama Golf is an immaculately maintained and beautifully manicured 18-hole championship course. The course constitutes over three hundred species of subtropical plants and a staggering 20,000 + palm trees. the vast majority of all of the golf holes on the course have spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and the island of La Gomera.
Signature Hole: The 10th is considered to be the best hole on the golf course, and what a beauty it is:
A long par 5 with a dramatic downhill elevation change, you will need an accurate tee shot downhill past a couple of water hazards to the left and deep bunkers to the right, to the final dogleg.

Tecina golf club has played host to the Canary Islands Championship plus a European Challenge Tour event, and given the location and views from the course, it is easy to see why it was chosen for such prestigious events.
In addition, the course measures 6,900 yards from the back tees and, although not easy, is suitable for players of all abilities. The fairways are wide on many of the holes, and the greens are often exposed, meaning you can play attacking shots.
Signature Hole: The 4th is one of three signature holes at Tecina Golf and a picture of beauty, A short par 3 with vistas of the Azure Atlantic.

The beautiful Buenavista Golf championship course is one of the finest examples from the Severiano Ballesteros portfolio, with fantastic views of lakes and the Atlantic from almost every hole. The golf course is located some 50 minutes away from Reina Sofia airport in the North West of the Island – if you are looking for championship golf in a quiet location, then look no further.
Signature Hole: The 16th is our personal signature hole, a mid-length par 4 with unrivalled sea views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Location: Adeje, Tenerife, Spain

Costa Adeje Golf is Designed by José Gancedo, one of Spain's most celebrated course architects. This 27-hole takes advantage of the natural characteristics of the land and landmarks from its former use as a banana plantation.
For the most part, Adeje is a fair golf course that all levels of golfers will enjoy, with stunning ocean views over the Island of Gomera. Just like Golf del Sur, one of the standout features is the black volcanic sand waste bunkers, some of which are very large.
Signature Hole: The 7th is our personal signature hole, a fantastic par three that requires a tee shot over a barranca to the green. Make sure you take enough club.
