UK Golf Break Specialist
Where to Play: Portmarnock Golf Links
The Portmarnock Hotel & Golf links sit adjacent to and overlooking the Portmarnock beach. Clearly located on the “Velvet Strand”, an uninterrupted stretch of coastline. Also, just some fifteen minutes drive from Dublin International Airport. This is, without any doubt, one of the most popular Ireland Golf Breaks.
History is prevalent here. The Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links was the family home and the St. Marnocks Estate of John Jameson III and his family from 1847 inwards.
Without a doubt, golf at Portmarnock is high on the agenda. Importantly the on-site 18 Hole Portmarnock Golf Links golf course was designed by Bernhard Langer. Consequently, his first Links golf course opened its doors in 1995. As a result, the course has hosted both Amature and professional Tour events, including the Irish Ladies Open in 2008 and 2009.
Indeed the Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links is a modern hotel housed in the original building. It has air conditioning, 24-hour reception, a restaurant, a bar, and The Spa at Portmarnock.
Guests staying here can enjoy relaxing in The Spa at Portmarnock in addition to an extensive array of treatments. Holistic treatments are popular here, running hand-in-hand with traditional therapies using modern techniques.
Dining at Portmarnock can be experienced at the newly renovated The Seaview restaurant in a quiet part of the hotel. The Seaview provides fantastic views along the coast and Dublin's Bay through the large panoramic windows. The restaurant is opening for lunch and dinner, consisting of a seasonal Table D’Hote menu.
Importantly, Pre or post-dinner drinks can be enjoyed in the famous and ever-popular Jameson Bar, thus named after the Jameson Family connections with the Hotel. The Jameson Bar is the place to enjoy an extensive selection from whiskeys to wines and, of course, undoubtedly a perfect pint of Guinness.
As a result, a stay here will be relaxing and memorable. You may play well on one of the most famous golf courses in the area and have an unforgettable stay in Ireland.
