Situated between Portimao and Monchique (in the Algarve)and surrounded by nature, making for a very picturesque setting. Despite being surrounded by fields and hills, the course is quick and easy to reach, especially from Faro Airport.
Taking the A22 from the airport, you can stay on this road before continuing on the N124 for only 4 miles before arriving at Morgado Golf. The journey is under an hour and can be completed with a hire car, taxi or shuttle transfer.
Due to the location, you have great access to the interior countryside but also the coast and can combine playing golf at Morgado Golf with hilly walks or relaxing days at the beach.
Having opened for play in 2003, Morgado Golf is one of the newest additions to golf in the Algarve and has developed a reputation for being one of the tougher layouts in this region of Portugal. The course is part of the NAU Hotels and Resorts group.
The course was designed by Russell Talley of European Golf Design and has been met with many positive reviews. The Open de Portugal returned to the European Tour after a seven-year absence in 2017 and Morgado Golf was selected as the host venue for the tournament.
Morgado will again host the “Open de Portugal” in 2019 and therefore be closed for general play between 03-13 May, re-opening again on the 14th of May 2019.
