Golf

There are two excellent golf courses on offer at Hill Valley. The 18-hole Emerald and Sapphire Golf Courses have developed the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa as a world-class golf championship venue. The Championship Course drifts through sweeping parkland, challenging golfers playing among mature trees and spectacular water features alongside USGA-style tournament greens all with beautiful landscapes of the Welsh Mountains. The Sapphire Course is more forgiving yet still of tremendous quality and showcases several outstanding golf holes, including the par 3 17th which is surrounded by water.

The Hill Valley Emerald Championship Course has a total yardage of 6,714 yards and a par of 73 and is a challenge for all abilities of golfer. It's the signature course at the Hill Valley Golf Club. The course sweeps around stunning, rippling fairways through natural water hazards and strategically positioned bunkers, offering a real golfing challenge for experienced and mid-level players.

Shaped by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas and constructed by Albert Minshall in 1975, the courses at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa make this venue one of the top ten golf venues in the UK.

Located in acres of beautiful peaceful gardens, The Par 66 Sapphire Golf Course is shorter and more forgiving than its big sibling, The Emerald. That being said, it has tricky, compact greens and awkward approaches that make precision shot quality a must.

Facilities

The Macdonald Hill Valley hotels offer guests the Essential Health & Fitness Club, the perfect place to relax after a  game of golf. With various spa treatments including Rock Sauna and Aromatherapy Steam Room, eight Asian Inspired Treatment Rooms, Mud Rasul, plus a fantastic 20 m swimming pool and very well-equipped gym from which to choose, there's still plenty to keep you busy after you've perfected the golf courses.

Dining

The resort offers a relaxing Sports Bar and Lounge Bar or a more elegant Border's Restaurant for your evening meal. Both restaurants have their own styles and give you the ultimate dining experience to match your perfect golf break. For a casual drink after a game of golf, try the friendly Hill Valley Lounge Bar overlooking the stunning Emerald Course.
