Valderrama Golf Club

Where to Stay: Hotel Encinar de Sotogrande

To give it the correct name, Valderrama or Real Clube Valderrama is one of Europe's greats and is why so many of our golfers who love playing the game in Spain book Costa del Sol golf holidays.

Since 1988 this 18 hole Championship golf course surrounded by small Umbrella Pines that line, the fairways have been rated as the best golf course in Europe. A private and exclusive members club is one of the game's gems, designed by the excellent Robert Trent Jones Snr. It has hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup and the Spanish Open until 2016.

Following on, the golf course now hosts the Andalucia Valderrama Masters hosted by and in co-operation with the Sergio Garcia Foundation, an official European Tour event that attracts the best golfers and has a significant following by the banks of spectators that flock to the venue.

Located centrally to the exclusive Sotogrande estate in Sotogrande, in Southern Spain Valderrama is one of Europe's greats and a golf course. Suppose you have the opportunity. You have to play. It must feature in the top five golfers' bucket list and Pebble Beach & the PGA National.
