Our Latest Golf Holiday Offers:

Our Favourite GOLF Resorts in Murcia include:

Sheraton Hacienda del Alamo Golf and Spa Resort

  • You are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a golf resort in Murcia and we begin with the Sheraton Hacienda del Alamo Golf and Spa Resort. This is located in-land and features a 4-star hotel running on a Caribbean theme. You will find both outdoor and indoor swimming pools, three restaurants and a golf course on-site.

La Manga Resort

  • If that is not enough, how about a stay at La Manga Resort? Here you will find a choice of accommodation ranging from hotel rooms to villas and in terms of food and drink, you cannot go wrong. There are over 20 restaurants and bars at La Manga offering a wide range of cuisine and the resort has three championship golf courses.

Doubletree by Hilton La Torre Golf and Spa Resort

  • Other tremendous options for a golf holiday in Murcia include Doubletree by Hilton La Torre Golf and Spa Resort, Mar Menor and Valle del Este Golf Resort.

Murcia is a city in south-eastern Spain and is the capital city of the region which goes by the same name. It is one of the largest cities in Spain and the region is known for its various landscapes which range from badlands and steppes to pine trees and mountains.

The region of Murcia is therefore very diverse and makes for a very interesting place to play golf.

Which Golf Courses in Murcia do we Recommend?

La Manga

  • The real question is where do we begin when choosing which courses to play on a Murcia golf holiday? It is no exaggeration to say it is tough to single any golf course over another due to the high quality in this region of Spain. However, both the West and South Course at La Manga should be at the top of your list. They offer a nice contrast, with the South being flat and welcoming for your driver while the West is tighter, with doglegs and pine trees throughout. Both courses are always in pristine condition.

Menor Golf Club

  • Away from La Manga, you have Mar Menor Golf Club, with the front and back nine designed by Dave Thomas and Jack Nicklaus respectively and the Alhama Signature Course, which features five lakes and large, receptive greens. Mar Menor started life as a 9 hole course but was developed into an 18 hole course by Jack Nicklaus one of the true greats of global and indeed European golf, with a great clubhouse, featuring a spa and many other facilities. Finally, the La Manga resort offers a choice of three excellent courses. The resort itself is very well known and has played host to a number of professional tournaments as well as being used as a training facility for other sports teams. Of the three championship courses, the West Course with its regular changes in elevation stands out. Very well-manicured and with great scenery throughout the 18 holes, it’s easy to be lulled into a false sense of security but once you have started your round, you know you are in for a real test of skill.

Murcia’s Popular Golf Regions

You will find the bulk of the top golf courses in Murcia outside the city and spread across the region, from the city toward the coast.

Starting in the city of Murcia and working your way out towards the Mediterranean, you will find a wealth of golf course along the RM-19 road, which leads all the way out to the coast. Here you will find another great grouping of golf courses.

Continuing south along the coast and taking the RM-12, you will head to towards the world-famous La Manga Resort. This located on the tip of the land, close to Cartagena and is a superb region for a golf holiday in Murcia.

Golfer’s Overview:

Climate

This region boasts over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, and its coastline is bathed by the warm waters of the Mediterranean. There are endless sandy beaches and small coves which are popular in summer.

When To Visit

The best times to visit are April-June and September-November which allows for good weather and superb course conditions. However, there are some really good value deals to be found in low season too.

Flights

You can use 2 airports to get to the region: Alicante is within an hour’s transfer and will offer you the most choice for flights fro the UK. The closest airport for most resorts is San Javier in Murcia. This is around a 20-minute drive from La Manga Club. Easyjet, Ryanair and Jet2 all cover San Javier from various airports across the UK. As a guide, flights from London are 2.5 hours.

As always you get the best golf package deals the earlier you book with flights and we have some fantastic early booking discounts on our resorts – so contact our team who are happy to advise.
