La Manga Club Hotel Principe Felipe
The Principe Felipe in Murcia, Spain, is another one of the 360 Select Hotels, one of the very best that we offer, for quality, service, and overall client experience, and has recently been voted Spains Best Hotel and Resort by Todays Golfer readers.
With almost half a century of heritage behind it, La Manga Club seems to have become an icon in south-eastern Spain over the years as the desired location for sports and leisure holidays.
Designed and built-in typically Andalucian style whilst still providing five-star luxury & elegance. The 5 Star hotel gained a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013, also voted The Best Golf Resort in Spain in 2017 by the World Golf Awards. It is centrally locally to the entire resort just a short walk from the main golf clubhouse, the resort itself has been providing world-class sports and leisure facilities since its inception in 1972. It is ideally suited for individuals, couples, groups, and perfect for the sport orientated family.
Golfers of all abilities will enjoy the 3 on-site courses on offer all of which provide three different golfing challenges when staying at the La Manga Hotel Principe Felipe.
The La Manga North Golf Club North, shorter and more strategic than the South, makes excellent use of the gullies that consume in the fairways that provide a tough strategic test. Greens have been completely renovated to USGA specs. The north is more undulating than the south, although much flatter than the trellised treelined golf course in the west.
The South Course opened in 1971, Arnold Palmer remodeled the longest golf course in La Manga complex in 1992 and rebuilt in 2004. This is a power-rewarding golf course, with lots of par-5s and long par-3s. The South Golf Course has orchestrated Spanish PGA Championships for both men and women and has been the home of the Q-School European Tour for so many years. The South is what most would consider the Championship offer at the La Manga Club.
La Manga West Golf Club was opened in 1992 and offers welcoming variety to the La Manga complex. The golf course, engineered by Dave Thomas, is routed through pine trees and is much hillier than the other two. The West has rapidly become a new favourite among La Manga guests, a tight contorting golf course that has plenty of blind holes and barrancas to avoid.
The diverse leisure facilities on this resort are second to none, with 28 tennis courts, various swimming pools, spa as well as cricket and football facilities. For entertainment, we recommend the piano bar which has live music most nights.
- “I would like to say we had a great time, the hotel and golf courses were excellent, and we were very lucky with the weather.“
