El Valle Golf Course
Tell friends and family you are flying to Alicante and the first thing they will probably think of is Benidorm. However, you must only travel for one hour in the opposite direction from the airport and you will find Murcia.
Situated in southeastern Spain, Murcia is the capital city of the region which goes by the same name and here you will find historic treasures, laid back beaches, diving opportunities and a selection of great golf in Murcia.
With many golf courses in Murcia to choose from, choosing one to play can be tough but if you must pick only one we recommend trying El Valle Golf Course.
This Course is located just 30 minutes away from the city of Murcia, Cartagena and Mar Menor, so if you decide to base yourself away from the resort, you will not have far to travel to reach the golf course.
The course itself is situated along the foothills of the mountains which divide Murcia and Cartagena and this provides a lovely backdrop to a round of golf. One glance at online reviews show the El Valle Golf Course to be ‘peaceful’, ‘tranquil’ and ‘quiet’, so if you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy a round of golf, this is the course for you.
El Valle Golf Resort
An immaculate 18 hole golf course set up perfectly and nicknamed the “Tournament Course”, The Par 71 course, is designed by one of the greatest Jack Nicklaus players of all time. It feels like you are teeing up on a golf course in Arizona, with its desert attributes. This is unquestionably a quality course. Different types of grass were used on greens and fairways in order to maintain the best quality terrain on the course. The bunkers with their sharp edges are Punishing and expertly placed.
All of the Nicklaus trail golf courses have noteworthy holes, El Valle can boast several 2 of the best being the 8th with a mountain backdrop.
The golf course is routed in a ‘core’ format that gathers several holes together while keeping the neighbouring development at the perimeter. This means that many holes border other golf holes and not residences, creating a more open and natural golfing experience. Instead of length, the course relies on multiple subtle strategic elements to challenge golfers.
The generally flat terrain makes El Valle a fairly easy walk, while the pure white sand, lakes and palm trees make the course truly glorious.
A pleasurable and generous resort course, El Valle is well worth a visit as part of your next South East Spain golfing holiday.
