The Santo Antonio golf course is located in the countryside adjacent to Salema and historical Saghres and just 10 minutes from the centre of Lagos.

The golf course opened its doors in 1987 and was originally the Parque da Floresta golf course. The Vigia group of hotels purchased the golf course and a considerable plot of land and built Villas and apartments, creating the Santo Antonio Villas Golf and Spa and re-branding for commercial reasons as Santo Antonio.

The Parque da Floresta golf club remains and runs as such and has some 250 members. The golf course is known as one of the regions openly welcoming courses making all visitors as welcome as its members.

This 18-hole golf course is a Pepe Gancedo design and takes in the natural countryside and is by far one of the hilly golf courses on the Algarve, with most of the fairways carved through the valleys with steep sides. A golf buggy is essential here as the walk would be more than a test, let alone lifting golf clubs too.

The landscape has been cleverly used here to maximise the natural views, which on many holes are outstanding. Santo Antonio measures some 6,145 yards from the back tee and, with numerous tee boxes, is an ideal course for golfers of all abilities.
