In our opinion, very underrated when it comes to the top 100 rankings, currently ranked 6th in Turkey (Irmak & Tuna combination). A course we often recommend for a golf holiday in Turkey.
National Golf Club is a 27-hole layout designed by David Feherty and David Jones and has been open since 1994 making it the oldest layout in the area. The snow-capped Tauras Mountains provide an exquisite backdrop for this very tight tree-lined and mature golf course.
Irmak and Tuna are undoubtedly the best combinations of play, although the addition of the Ada 9 holes in 2006 has not damaged but enhanced the National's grounds.
Make no excesses this course is tight and well-placed shots are required and also the ability to move the ball in different directions is key to scoring well. It is known to wonder the European Ladies Tour use the venue for a competition where accuracy is paramount and actually hitting the ball as far as you can, often leaves you in undesirable positions. This course has been routed to take advantage of the mildly undulating terrain is so creative and the natural waterway, which runs through at least, half of the holes have been cleverly integrated into thecourse's designe.
The Clubhouse almost feels like one you would expect to see in a 100-year-old club in the U.K. It has a wreck of old school charm and class, not modern and sole less by any stretch of the imagination.
In fact, the perfect place to sit and admire the incredible terrain and land at National Golf Course.
Since the National's opening on 18 November 1994, the Club has become a popular tourist destination attracting golfers from all corners of the world. In no time it won international recognition. Carved through a forest of eucalyptus and pine trees with the back-drop of the snow-capped Taurus mountains and an abundance of natural lakes, the National tests all players' abilities.
