Alcaidesa Links near Sotogrande in Spain is a magnificent 18-hole par-72 links course, opened in 1992 designed by Peter Ellis and Clive Clark. The course’s terrain is shaped by gentle slopes descending towards the sea, culminating in an almost 2 km long beautiful beach that borders most of the course’s holes.
As well as being a great course that is used frequently on the Europro Tour, The views from Alcaidesa over the beach and with the rock of Gibraltar in the backdrop are simply stunning.
The strong winds from the sea have the greatest impact on the difficulty of the course. However, overall the course is very playable for amateurs of all levels.
The most distinctive features of the course are the impressive views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. The total length of the course: 5,866 m.
In 2011, Golf World magazine included Alcaidesa Links in the best 20 Golf courses in Europe. So book golf holidays in the Costa del Sol today, and you will not be disappointed by the standard of the golf course in this Spanish region.
As well as the Links, there is also the 18 hole heathland course to play at Alcaidesa, which makes for a fine 36 golf day.
Fantastic trip booked by Tom at 360 Golf Holidays. We loved Alcaidesa. What a view this was!!! We also really enjoyed San Roque new, and the ONA was an excellent base for us whilst golfing in Marbella.
