Where To Stay: The Warwickshire Hotel

The Warwickshire is another fantastic resort with no less than 45 Holes of golf for the most and least avid golfers amongst us. There are three separate courses made up as follows;-

The Earls GC

This beautiful 18 hole course tests golfers of all abilities with water features and tree-lined fairways - a fantastic test of golf with many tight driving holes.

The Earls Course provides an all-around championship golf experience, with difficult-to-read greens, great woodland holes, and a variety of water hazards to contend with.

If you are looking to shoot the low score you want, good course management is essential. This is a course that requires you to bring your A-game from the start. The 420-yard first hole foreshadows what's to come, requiring a good drive into a funnel of trees before a mid-to-long iron into the green.

The front nine continues through mature woodlands, with notable highlights including the 4th a long dog-leg par 5, measuring over 600 yards, and the signature 7th, an arrow straight par 4 from an elevated tee with trees left and right ready to catch any wayward drives.

The back nine is a little more open and shorter, but no less challenging. The 12th hole, for example, is a lovely par 4 that sweeps down to a green surrounded by trees and protected by a bunker.

The Kings Course

This picturesque 18-hole parkland course features wide fairways, large undulating greens protected by strategically placed bunkers, and numerous lakes and water hazards to put your skills to the test. A thrilling style course that requires you to use your brain as well as your brawn. Golfers of all skill levels will find it enjoyable.

The Kings Course is more open in nature, with wider fairways protected by more water and lakes. It is slightly shorter than Earls (6,535 yards from the yellows, 6,864 yards from the whites). The par 3s and the finishing stretch are two of The Kings' course's strongest points. The 17th is another great short hole with a two-tiered green where birdies (and even holes in one) are possible with the right wedge swing.

However, bogeys and worse are possible if you miscalculate distance and come up short (sandy or wet! ), or go long (good luck keeping your ball on the green when chipping on!)

In addition to the short par 3s, there are longer options for those who want to put their mid to long irons to the test.

The signature 8th hole, which requires a carry of 160-190 yards (depending on tee position) over a lake into another two-tiered green, and the 12th, which measures well over 200 yards with the green perched on top of a mound, add to the difficulty.

The Castle Course

A 9 hole Academy course is ideal for those just beginning golf or those wishing to tweak their short game. The holes all vary between 90 and 200 yards ideal if you are just wanting to hit balls or learning the game from scratch.

The golf club also has a 26 bay driving range available to All golfers members or non-members alike. The Golf Academy is also available with a team of resident professionals on-hand to give lessons for golfers of all ages and abilities.
