The Grove Golf Course is located within easy access to the country's capital and highly regarded as London's cosmopolitan country estate. The Grove opened for play in 2003 and designed by world-renowned architect Kyle Philips, the very same man behind Kingsbarns and Yas Links. The Grove never fails to look spectacular and always plays to an incredibly high standard. The greens are of very high USGA specifications and are the slickest in the south of the country. 

The Grove and The British Masters

Home to the British Masters in 2016 and the Amex world golf championships back in 2006 which saw Tiger Woods claim victory over the world's top 50 golfers. The Grove has a wonderful history considering its short life thus far. 

The course can be stretched out from 7,150 yards from the Championship tees to 5,500 yards from the front tees, and we would recommend that for us mere mortal golfers the yellow tees at 6,332 yards provide the maximum enjoyment and fully make use of excellent course design and presents a challenge that can be very tough if not playing at your best but is, more importantly, a fair challenge with a real mix of golf holes that play different yardages.

How boring would the game be if every par 3 was 170 yards?  

The course discreetly wraps around the award-winning Hotel with its award-winning spa, three restaurants, lounges and bars and has a host of incredible and memorable golf holes. 

Great Memories

The par 3 13th holds many memories for me as it was this very hole I first watched Tiger Woods play. It is a long Par 3 from the tips at close to 250 yards be it all downhill to a devilish green that if short, kicks every ball right to left and straight in the direction of the 4 pot greenside bunkers, however, once you landed on the putting surface, it swings the complete opposite direction and moves rapidly left to right. A really great par 3.

Two of the par 5s are reachable at just under 500 yards, however, both of these would challenge even the very best golfers to reach in two.

Located in Hertfordshire, with perfectly manicured fairways, stunning gorse, incredible receptive lush greens and bunkers that must be avoided to score well the Grove is one of the very best golf experiences that can be played as part of a golf break in the UK.
