Course designer Dave Thomas designed plenty of excellent golf courses in his time and has been involved in design in some of Europe’s best and most love courses, Terre Blanche, Real La Manga Club, The Belfry and Atlungstad in Norway just to name a few. Unfortunately, since passing away in 2013 we will be unable to further rewards of his direct hard work across Europe. Nobilis located in the Robinson Club in Belek was his first attempt in Eastern Europe and is a gem of a golf course.
Although it has never ranked in the top 10 golf courses in Turkey, I’d hope most would agree Nobilis is extremely underrated.
The par threes are very attractive indeed most notably for me the 16th where there is a long carry over water to land on an undulating green.
The Par 72 layout is essentially a parkland-style course set on a coastal sandy terrain with large greens and generous fairways but be warned there are a number of strategically placed bunkers, natural rivers, and high pine and eucalyptus trees to stop you in your ways.
I personally think the courses are much more mature than its age and its raised greens are a joy to put on.
Also worth noting that non-resident tee times are typically very good on Robinson Nobilis Golf Course, and the course is actually only 15 minutes away from the furthest golf hotel in Belek.
Pro Tip, "As with every golf course in Belek, Get the tee shot away in the right position. Distance is not everything over here; you will only be able to attack the greens if you have put yourself in the right spot."
