Since its beginnings, the club has enticed a host of championships and prestigious tournaments involving some of the game's greatest players including the 1993 and 1994 European Open, 5 European Challenge Tour Events, 4 PGA European Tour Qualifying Schools from 1994 to 1997, plus countless other golf tournaments including Open Qualifying.

The East Course is a stadium layout of 7,081 yards, built for competitive play. It was the framework for several significant UK & international competitions as well as on two occasions the European Open Championship.
The course is maintained to the highest quality and the greens are a true attribute. At The East Course, the greens are well constructed for pin placements with a great range of variance and no two days play will feel the same. The greens are broad, with discreet undulations that keep the golfer's wits about them. The first hole is a wonderful opening hole on The East Course. It offers a spectacular approach shot with a river scrutinising the fairway surrounding the green and is a great way to begin the round.
The West Course glides around tranquil water features and cascading rivers through mature oak trees. The West Course par 72 spans an impressive 7,154 yards.
The course also offers a fun test for golfers of all abilities. The course is maintained to the highest quality. With undulating fairways and a wide diversity of holes, the course is well designed. The course offers magnificent vistas with large old trees, sweeping fairways and perfect surfaces for putting on. At East Sussex National the West Course is a true treat.
