Where to Stay: Belton Woods Golf Club
Belton woods golf course is a fantastic 36 hole golf resort in Lincolnshire, Home to the Championship layouts of the ‘The Lakes’ and ‘The Woods’ with a further 9-hole par 3 golf course ‘The academy course’. Over 60,000 rounds of golf are played each year at Belton Woods and is a firm favourite for a one night two round golf break in the United Kingdom.
The Lakes Course is a great par 72, Championship course that measures 6,776 yards from the back tees. A real test awaits players who tee up on the Lakes, With natural lakes protecting the majority of the greens and well-manicured fairways that are narrow and very long. The 9th hole is one of the longest in the U.K at over 600 Yards. The Lakes course is more suitable for low to mid-handicap golfers with long carries and lots of forced risk and reward shots needed to score well. Fantastic for society gold and larger groups that want to play two different 18 hole championship courses within the luxury of one resort. We recommend playing the lakes course on day one of your golf trip leaving the Woodside course for the second day when heads are likely to be a bit fragile after a few well-deserved drinks in the fabulous bar at Belton Woods.
The Woodside course is shorter than the Lakes course and the fairways are more forgiving and wider, suiting a more varied ability of handicapped golfers.
The fairways have many natural hazards and need good course management to score well.
Although shorter than the Lakes the added par 5 makes up a par 73 set up and is a great second round of golf on offer at Belton Woods.
The greens are kept incredibly well and the fairways are more undulated and offer an entirely different 18 holes to that of the Lakes.
What makes Belton Woods so popular with large groups and golf societies alike are the excellent practice facilities on offer combined with two championship golf courses, incredible value and lovely accommodation.
Belton Woods is a fantastic choice for your next golf break.
This 9-hole course attached to the Golf Academy has a range of holes from 92 to 186 yards. A fantastic short competition challenge if the 36 holes at Belton Woods remains a tie.
