PGA Aroeira Lisboa

PGA Aroeira Lisboa is home to two excellent golf courses, with the PGA Aroeira No.1 golf course designed by Frank Pennick and opened first in 1972. When players visited the course following the opening, it received many great reviews, and the British media immediately took to the course, calling it the ‘Wentworth of Lisbon’. The PGA Aroeira No.1 hosted the Portuguese Open in 1976 and 1977, the European Ladies Open on many occasions, and the men's European Club Trophy in 2013. The new Owners of the Aroeira Country Club estate decided to give both golf courses, the clubhouse and surroundings a PGA standard make-over.

The course measures just short of 6696 yards from the back tees, with the recent enhancements to the golf course it is a great test of golf with PGA Standard Greens & Tees and upgraded facilities all-around with a fantastic new modern upgrade on the old 1970s clubhouse mixing both culture, history and tradition with the True values that are only set by the PGA. The multi-million Euro makeover has brought back to life the excitement that golfers once had when playing the course back in the 1970s, the course is now just as good and then some more on top.

The second course Aroeira PGA No.2 was originally designed by the famous American golf course designer Donald Steel, it opened its long-awaited doors in April 2000. The course Aroeira PGA No.2 slightly shorter than the original has many features more akin to the original with the introduction of slightly wider more open fairways the Aroeira PGA No.2 course is designed for golfers of all abilities to enjoy. Water comes into play here so careful choice of club selection is key to keep your par score up to date.
