Salinas de Antigua Golf Club

The Canary Islands boast a temperate climate year-round. The temperature on Fuerteventura remains a constant around the 20-degree mark.

The Salinas Golf Course is located just a short drive from the International Airport and makes the most of the natural climate with wind and sunshine constant, ideal growing conditions for great golf course design.

The 18-hole course was designed by two-time world golf champion Manolo Piñeiro.  Indeed,  is a par 70-course measuring 5,409 yards from the back tees.

As with other resorts on Fuerteventura, Of course, the wind has a role to play and while the sand dunes can protect golfers from some of the gusts. Unquestionably,  it is still something which you must consider when choosing your club and planning approach shots.

There are many features to the course and the most prominent is the water, with four lakes, the first of which comes into play on the 4th hole. You have the option to play aggressively and attempt to clear the water on approach to the green or play around the water on the fairway. The wind can often be the determining factor.

Playing strategically rather than trying to hit the ball long is the favoured approach by many and if you enjoy being creative on the course, you will have a great time playing at Golf Club Salinas de Antigua.

Away from the course, the Club has some excellent facilities for you to enjoy. Spacious putting greens, a driving range, and a pro-shop cover the golfing side of things nicely.

You will also find a café and restaurant, boasting a lovely choice of wine from the cellar. There is also the option to book a stay at one of their two hotels, with the Geranios Suites and Spa Hotel plus Barceló Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa both good options.
