The Pirin Golf Club is located high up in the Pirin mountains, in Raslag Valley, adjacent to the famous Bansko Ski Resort. Measuring 6131 yards from the White tees, this Ian Woosnam designed 18 Hold Championship golf course opened its doors in 2008. Shortly thereafter, the additional Pirin Pine five-hole course was added.
The legacy of Pirin is of its own making, recognised as one of Bulgaria’s best golf courses. Its location provides golfers with outstanding, some might say breathtaking scenery, more akin to the Swiss Alps or mountains of Austria.
The course is located just over 9,000 feet above sea level and features no less than 80 bunkers, making the fairways that little more interesting and testing, with accuracy off the tee imperative. Water hazards have also been cleverly woven into the landscape and features two tee boxes for men and one for ladies not including the Black Tournament Tees. The course has hosted the Senior Tour Europe and is a Member along with the hotel, a Member of European Tour Destinations.
A great course, challenging yet fair and with views to die for.
