Murcar Links Golf Course
Golf in Scotland, as we all know is where it first began and over the years many great courses have appeared and stayed, many are just not given the praise that perhaps they should. Murcar Links is just one of the unsung heroes, located just 5 miles North of Aberdeen this great Links golf course has extensive views out across the North Sea.
It opened initially in 1909 with the original Design from Resident Pro (from next door at Royal Aberdeen) Archie Simpson, with extensive improvement by the great golf course designer James Braid improving what already was a great course, the layout which still stands today.

Over the years Murcar has quietly collected some great honours and a European Tour venue when it hosted the 2015 Paul Lawrie matchplay and the followed in 2018 the R & A 123rd Amateur Championship qualifying round boosting its status up to 47th in Scotlands Top 100 Courses in 2019 by National Club Golfer.
From the Back Tees, this par 71 golf course measures 6,516 yards, not for the faint of heart and with the wind blowing a true test to rival any of the other great courses that litter this fantastic golfing landscape.
It’s definitely a Bucket list course in Scotland for us and one not to be missed when you are in the area.
