The mission of Kyle Phillips was to build a championship links golf course that would represent the cultural identity of seaside golf on the west coast of Scotland, but something that would still prosper from the latest construction methods.
The golf course has already matured well, gaining acclaim from far and wide with so many labelling it as one of the finest in Ayrshire. A wonderful addition to an already spectacular West Coast collection – Royal Troon is just 10 minutes away by car – Dundonald Links is a glorious link that merits its place in the top 100 of the UK. The Course's most recent accolade was staging the 2017 Scottish Open, won by Spain's Rafael Cabrera-Bello.
The Original design opened for play in 2003 and the gentle fairways encourage the golfers of abilities to play the course, and the spectacular views make it a fantastic round of golf. Dundonald Links is always in great condition to be played all year round. With natural contours depicting this beautiful course and winds that can change at any moment, this is sure to be a challenge for any golfer.
Approximately £ 1 million in upgrades will be made to the current golf course before re-opening in May 2021 to strengthen the playing experience led by the original course designer Kyle Phillips and his team. Work has also begun on the new luxurious clubhouse and lodging project. Phase one of the €25 million projects will see 18 luxury lodges built with golfers in mind for the ultimate golfing getaway.
This is without a doubt one of the finest links golf courses in the world and once that the lodgings are completed in May 2021 will be one of the finest stays and play venues in Scotland. Not forgetting the abundance of bolt-on courses to really craft the most perfect Aryshire Golf Tour.
