With a hotel just 200 yards from the first tee, everything is taken care of at Bonalba Golf and you can step from the breakfast table to the golf course in a matter of minutes. Playing to 7,000 yards, the golf course is an 18-hole, par 72 parkland-style course and there are five lakes to contend with during the round.

Three of the five lakes come into play on the front nine holes. Technical golfers who enjoy playing strategically will enjoy the opening nine holes and the final three holes on the way out are known as the ‘Amen Corner of Bonalba’.

The first 9 holes are quite tactical, as you have to avoid three of the five existent lakes. The three last holes of the front 9 can spoil even the best scorecards, as they are the handicap 1 (par 4), 13 ( par 3), and 3 (par 4) in the course: they called by the local golfers the "Amen Corner" of Bonalba. The back 9, being also quite technical, requires stronger strokes. It has holes where the dominant breeze from Levante makes it difficult to reach the green, normally forcing the golfers to use more "woods" than usual. On holes 16, 17, and 18, the breeze blows right into the faces of the golfers.

The back nine holes are more suited to powerful players, especially as the wind is known to pick up on this stretch of the course. The two sets of nine holes provide a nice contrast and make for a cracking round at Bonalba Golf.

Designed by Ramón Espinosa and open for play in 1995, Bonalba Golf is one of many excellent golf courses in Spain crying for your attention. Situated between the coast and the Paisatge Natural Protegit Serra del Maigmó, The golf course has an enviable location.
