Where to Stay: Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel
Situated at the heart of the extensive resort sits the impressive Aphrodite Hills Golf Course. Perched on a prime piece of land in Kouklia, it is spread across two plateaus, and it is visually spectacular. Just a 20-minute drive from Paphos airport, it is the best of the four golf courses in Cyprus.
First opened in 2002, this Cabell Robinson design golf course was an immediate hit with European golfers and made a real impact in driving golfers to Cyprus. in 2016, the owners invested in the golf course, upgrading what was already an impressive Championship to something even better.
In 2017 Aprohdite Hills became the prestigious PGA National Cyrpus, with all greens, fairways, and facilities all meet USGA specifications. In addition, the golf clubhouse was expanded additional practice facilities were added. The Aphrodite Hills golf course measures 6,289 meters, some 6920 yards from the back tees, and is set up with numerous tees for golfers of all standards.
Aphrodite Hills is an impressive test where buggies are a standard requirement (and included within your green fee), with some distance between green to tee extensive. One of the most remarkable holes is the par-three 7th hole which spans a 130-meter gorge to the small green.
In October 2020, Aphrodite Hills became a European Tour Venue and hosted its inaugural Aphrodite Hill Cyprus Open, won by Callum Shinkwin. The DP Tour (now re-named ) will again be returning between November 3 - 6, 2022.
All-in-all an impressive golf course and another bucket-list course and one not to be missed whilst on the island.
