When to go on a Golf Holiday in Europe?
We all want to play golf with the sun on our backs, golf is so much more relaxing in warmer climes! This blog is written to help you maximise your chances of good weather, whatever time of year you travel.
With such a varied selection of areas and resorts across Europe, we can offer you golf holidays with good weather throughout the year. Perfect weather for golfing usually means little chance of rain, temperatures in the mid 20’s and clear skies. Generally, that means traveling further afield the later in the year you get, however, our guide to golf in Europe helps you find those perfect golf conditions throughout the year.
So, when is the best time to go on a golf break abroad? Let us take you through each month and advise which is the best location for a golf break in each month.
Golf in Murcia, Spain.
Murcia in the south-east of the country may be one of the smallest regions in Spain, it has now, however, one of the best climates for playing golf in November and in particular, some of the best value-for-money packages can now be found at The Residences Mar Menor. These four-star apartments sit on the Mar Menor golf course, one of the six Nicklaus Trail golf courses available to guests all six courses championship with the exceptional Alhama Signature included too. Great value golf holidays in Spain, great golf with sunshine to boot.
Sun, Sea, Sand and general warmth is called for therefore we can highly recommend the Canaries and in particular Tenerife. Our first choice here would be the four-star Vincci Tenerife Golf Hotel sitting overlooking the ocean and the Golf Del Sur golf course this modern hotel is great value for money and just a ten-minute drive away from Reina Sofia (Tenerife South Airport).

Golf Breaks in Almeria
The sun always shines in Almeria, with the best climate in Europe how can we not recommend in travelling to the Almeria Region with the best climate in mainland Spain in January.

The hotel sits overlooking its own 18-hole Championship golf course with unusual disc shaped Tee – boxes.

Portugal, we all know is synonymous with golf and golfing holidays and has been for the last 30 years or so. The untouched region of Oeste or as some refer to it as the Silver coast lies an hour or so North of Lisbon’s Portela International Airport. This region is famous for its white sandy beaches and a stop on the world windsurfing championships too. The Praia D’El Rey Marriott Resort is our choice for June with two 18 championship golf courses on-site the first the Praia D’El Rey links golf course and newly opened just a few weeks ago the West Cliffs Championship golf course. Guests staying here can choose either from the five-star Marriott hotel or the 1,2 or 3-bed room apartments and villas.

La Manga Golf Resort
With the popularity of Murcia ever-increasing, it would be amiss of us not to choose this region again for our July choice. This time we opt for Spain’s most comprehensive sports resort with three 18-hole championship golf courses, 26 court tennis centre, professional football centre, cricket and rugby pitches not to forget the 22 or so restaurants and bars. La Manga Club is our next choice and specifically the fantastic Las Lomas Village, this mix of modern luxury view apartments, old town villas and townhouses in “El Pueblo” and complete with the complimentary transportation service provided to get around the resort. Great value and choice for golfers, non-golfers, families and groups alike.
