Stoke Park

Located just 35 minutes from the Countries Capital and since 1908 has been providing 5-star luxury to residents. You may recognise the building, James Bond famously played matchplay here with Auric Goldfinger in 1964. Jimmy Price used the hotel’s restaurant as his meeting venue in the 2005 gangster hit Layer cake. Bridget Jones tried to enjoy a weekend getaway with Daniel Cleaver here too in 2001.

The hotel offers 49 luxury guest rooms and suites, 3 Rosette standard restaurants, 27 hole holes of Harry Colt golf and a multi-award winning spa to boot. The Golf

Stoke Park offers 27 holes of pure championship golf. The course opened in 1908 and has some exceptional holes of golf. The 7th was designed by Harry Colt, with Alistar MacKenzie as his assistant who certainly stole inspiration from this hole when planning the 12th at Augusta National a quarter of a century later.

There are plenty of other gentle reminders of Augusta at Stoke Park, Especially when the Azaleas and Rhododendrons are in full bloom. Stoke Park is an excellent challenging country club golf course, which sure does make for a special treat. 

The Spa

The award-winning Spa at Stoke Park is one of the finest in the country; Vanity Fair once quoted “one of the Four ‘Must Visit’ Spas in the World”. Expect exclusive THALGO treatments, Ayurvedic massage, and an endless list of spa treatments. The pool is impressive, a 20-metre swimming oasis with double-height floor-to-ceiling arched windows leading out onto a terrace and garden.

Other facilities include Italian marble steam rooms, deep relaxation room, a private atrium with an impressive tropical aquarium, outdoor Scandinavian Sauna and hot tub, nail bar and boutique. Now we appreciate that Stoke park is a bit more of a special occasion retreat and not ideally suited for groups.
