Located in a unique spot between the mountain chain of “Na Burguesa” and the Bay of Palma, surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean environment, Son Muntaner offers for golf enthusiasts a wide range of strokes and is, in fact, a real challenge for every player independent of handicap. A special design, remarkable greens and an eye for the detail are fascinating for every golf player, who visits the Island.
Nestled between the hills of Son Vida and the island’s capital of Palma, the Arabella resort consists of three classic courses, Son Vida, Son Quint, and Son Muntaner.
Son Muntaner Golf was added in May 2000, when Kurt Rossknecht, who renovated Son Vida, returned to work on a tougher, longer companion for its sister course. In 2016 they completely re-seeded the fairways with Bermuda Celebration grass, which has a blue-green colour and copes exceptional well with the climate, and the footfall on this popular course.
Son Muntaner is a player’s course, and from the 1st hole, you’re confronted by difficult approach shots over water to bunkered greens. A slithering lake runs the length of the 2nd and 3rd holes, testing your accuracy on each shot.
