The Colt Course
The 18-hole Lee Westwood Colt Championship Golf Course opened in May 2011 and had been elected one of England's top 100 golf courses just under eight months after it launched. The 6813-yard layout pointers recondition towards the highly esteemed and great English golf course designer Harry Colt (who engineered, the likes of, Wentworth, St Georges Hill, Sunningdale, and Swinley Forest). Though nothing is copied explicitly, the rectangular tees, the bunker shapes, and the Par-3 diverse range are all characteristics developed from this most masterful architect's distilled narratives.
The Filly Course
Located across the Close House Estate's grounds, with spectacular views of the Tyne Valley, the Filly Course has eighteen USGA specification greens. Awesome greens make the course an enjoyable challenge for golfers, where golf shots' precision and accuracy are the keys to a good score. Having held numerous PGA professional events in the past, the Filly Course is a thrilling shorter course, especially in comparison to its sister, The Colt Course.
